The Ngorongoro Crater was formed when a giant volcano the size of Mount Kilimanjaro collapsed and created a depression millions of years ago. It has now trapped wild animals in a paradise teaming with lakes, and fresh grass throughout the year. Beyond the big 5 (Lions, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos and leopards), Ngorongoro crater is also home to elands, spotted hyenas, jackals, wildebeests, hippos and Uganda Kobs. The best way to explore the crater is to go for a game drive with an experienced Guide.
Serengeti National Park also lies in the Northern safari circuit and offers an exclusive Big 5 and Great wildebeest migration experience. Pick up at Arusha – Travel to Seronera Serengeti
Wake up early and prepare for the transfer to Serengeti National Park from Arusha. Serengeti is Tanzania’s premier Big 5 and migration destination. Getting to this Park by road will take 5 hours but with stunning views of the Northern circuit. Once you get to Serengeti, you will check into your accommodation and have lunch. The next programme will be to embark on a late afternoon game drive via the Seronera area. Seronera is found in central Serengeti and is the perfect base for witnessing the great migration. You will great wildlife encounters including elephants and lion sightings. After having a great time along the Seronera region, return and take rest at the lodge.

Day 2: Full day in Central Serengeti
This day will be spend combing different parts of the Serengeti through the morning and afternoon game drive. The Driver/Guide may choose to take you away from the Central Serengeti in one of the drives 
especially if a higher concentration of migrating animals were sighted in Southern of northern Serengeti. However, the Central Serengeti is where the highest concentration of wildlife is seen throughout the year. You will be looking out for zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, antelopes of different kinds and several smaller carnivores. Serengeti is also an amazing habitat for birds with the largest being ostriches.
After completing first game drive, you will take a break to enjoy some lunch. Even when taking a break, be on alert as you will be spotting new animals. After lunch, expect to proceed with the afternoon game drive till evening,

Day 3: Second day game drive – depart for Ngorongoro – Afternoon game drive
Wake up early and take breakfast. You will depart with your luggage because you won’t be spending the 
night in Serengeti. The driver will take you for the last morning game drive in Serengeti. The purpose of this game drive is to ensure that you didn’t miss out on anything major. After the morning game drive, you will begin the transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the target will be the Crater. This is the world’s biggest collapsed volcanic crater. At the base of the Ngorongoro Crater, expect to encounter a variety of wildlife.

Day 4: Game drive and depart from Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After you have enjoyed an early morning breakfast, leave the lodge for a guided morning game drive through the Ngorongoro Crater base area. Whereas you visited the crater in the afternoon the previous day, you will be catching the early risers. Animal behavior is different in the morning and afternoon. By the end of the morning game drive, you would have caught sight of the big 5 mammals, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas and wildebeests. After the morning game drive, you will exit Ngorongoro and begin the 3-hour journey to Arusha town. The driver will end the safari at the airport or a hotel you booked for yourself in Arusha.

Packing List
We recommend that you pack light for your Ngorongoro Serengeti safari holiday in Tanzania. A good packing list should include sunscreen, comfortable shoes, insect repellents, a first aid kit, a safari hat, a pair of binoculars, your visas/passports, comfortable trousers, sunglasses and long-sleeved shirts.
Best time To Go
Ngorongoro and Serengeti safaris can be organized at any time of the year. That said, the dry season offers excellent travel conditions for you to explore the Serengeti and Ngorongoro protected areas in Tanzania. The dry season runs from June to October. The dry season is perfect for big 5 game viewing and witnessing the Great wildebeest migration. If you are interested in wildebeest calving season or an intimate wildlife tour, you can book a safari from November to April or January.
