The Synagogue Church of All Nations in Uganda
The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Uganda is run by the Kakande Ministries. The church is located at Kubiri roundabout which is next to Mulago hospital in Kampala. The Church in Uganda was rebuilt and revamped to become one of the largest churches in East Africa. With this revamp came name change as we will elaborate later. The SCOAN in Uganda is now referred to as the Temple Mount Church of All Nations and was recently opened by President Yoweri Museveni.
The church in Uganda is not a branch of the SCOAN in Nigeria which was led by the late Prophet T.B. Joshua. It operates independently under the stewardship of Prophet Samuel Kakande. T.B Joshua is one of the two Spiritual Fathers of Prophet Samuel Kakande and hence had a great influence on how things are organized at the Synagogue Church of all Nations in Uganda. In fact, Prophet T.B Joshua gave Prophet Kakande a special letter authorizing him to represent this Synagogue church in the entire East African region.
The Synagogue Church of all Nations in Uganda has grown from an influential church in Uganda to one that attracts global followers. It now receives pilgrims from countries like the United States, the Philippines, India, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. That said, most foreign visitors come from neighboring countries like Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Ghana, Congo and South Africa. They often organize themselves in groups and travel to the church in large bus convoys. On arrival at the church, they expect to receive blessings, healings, deliverance and also get to tour the new magnificent church.
An Interesting background of the Synagogue Church of All Nations Uganda (SCOAN)
The Synagogue Church of All Nations in Uganda (SCOAN) had a humble beginning starting with the arrival of Reverend Prophet John Obiiri Yeboah in the early 1970s. He had received a message from God to relocate to Uganda from his country Ghana and pray for those who sought deliverance. He founded the Redeemed church of God. This Redeemed Church of God was known for showcasing the wonderful work of Christ. People where healed of diseases, the blind saw again and demons manifested as they were cast out. This kind of anointing had never been seen in Uganda at such scale. With such powerful anointing, Prophet Obiri Yeboah was in the radar of those in Authority and even witch doctors who saw him as a threat.
A story is told of how he destroyed a famous witchdoctor known as Kiganira. Kiganira had the ability to sail on water using a banana leaf as he collected charms from islands in Lake Victoria. One day, he came to a place where Prophet John was preaching and healing people. He gave the Prophet 7 days to die. The man of God answered back and gave him 3 days to die.
As usual, Kiganira went to Lake Victoria to collect his witchcraft. While he was in the water, a Red Cross descended from heaven and hit him on the head killing him instantly. Those who were with him saw
everything but didn’t perish so that they could go back to testify. Prophet John Obiri Yeboah was very instrumental in the revival of the gospel in Uganda. At one point, President Idi Amin invited him to state house in 1972. Amin was a Dictator and wanted the prophet to pray for him to rule Uganda forever. The man of God told him that he should stop persecuting, killing and torturing people if he wanted to rule for long. If he continued killing people, his leadership would come to an end. A Muslim, Amin was not amused with this prophecy. He sent detectives to trail him. They couldn’t recognize him because God made him unrecognizable.
Prophet John was forced to leave Uganda because of Idi Amin. While departing from Entebbe Airport, he cursed Uganda for 16 years. The curse ended with the capture of power by the current president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in 1986. Prophet John later came back to Uganda and prayed for the country including the president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to rule with Justice and peace. The Prophet prayed for President
Museveni to receive wisdom during his rule. Prophet John visited several churches and prayed for many people. He imparted 7 men and women to continue his work in Uganda. All of those he prayed for are now prominent Pastors in their own right. Prophet John took a liking for Prophet Samuel Kakande and became his successor.
Through Prophet Samuel Kakande, the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Uganda has had a great impact on the people of Uganda, Africa and beyond. After rebuilding the church, Prophet Samuel Kakande had a revelation from God in which he was told to change the name of the church from Synagogue to Temple Mount Church of All Nations.
